reflection

I’m an accounting student in HCT Dubai women’s college. This is my last year in college I have been in this college since 4 years. I feel like it’s my second home, teachers and students are like one big family. Am sad because am going to leave the college so soon, but at the same time happy that I will graduate shortly.
The most beneficial project to me was web 2.0 project it was a challenging one because this is my first course that I have to tech the classmates about an application or software. The way the training's and presentations were conducted was very conducive to the learning environment. Student training sessions were also very interesting because they became master for at least one Web 2.0 tool.

I would like to thanks and really appreciate my teacher efforts and patience in teaching; it was a very useful way of teaching. Moreover, I have a great experience and I look forward to use what I have learned in this course in my career and personal life.

I would recommend this course to future students as it is not just about theory but also practical application of that theory.

I create this post to write my reflection on web 2.0 tools organized from the most preferable tool to the least favorite one.

 Google site
To me Google sites is the easiest web site maker it’s very useful for promoting a business. Through Google site you can input the contents simply. The lovely thing about Google site is that I can specify and choose people who I want to share my site with. After graduation, I am planning to create another Google site and share it with everybody in the world or maybe create one for my future business. I highly recommend my friends who run their own businesses to use Google sites for the purpose of promoting their products.

Blogger
Blog is one of my preferred tools that enable me to share my thoughts and experiences with people. Its keeps me in touch with my friends and relatives that far away from me, sharing pictures, videos and more. In this semester I’m required to use blog as a dairy but am thinking of keep posting even after the graduation.
Google docs
I use Google docs to submit many reports this semester once I learned about it, because it’s very easy to use, create a document and then share it with others. I like Google docs because it’s a safe place for storing my documents. The best features for Google docs to me are if I lose my work on the laptop I will still have it in Google docs also I can view my documents from any other laptop.

Google Chrome
To be honest at the beginning I wasn't excited about Google chrome because when I used to something that I’m already familiar with I don’t switch to another but in this semester it was my first time using Google chrome. Before I was using internet explorer then I found that Google chrome has many features and benefits more than any other web browsers such as task Manager for Websites, visual Browser History, Super Clean Contextual Menus, Search Your Favorite Websites from the Address Bar, See Memory Used by Different Browsers, Reopen Website tabs that you closed by mistake and Launch Websites from the Start Menu / Quick Launch Bar.  I also like the option called “Chrome Web Store” a lot because it enables me to add different things to my chrome like Business tools, Games, Lifestyle, News and weather besides other things.

Picasa
Picasa is great software that enables me to edit my photos, add text to them. I found it much simpler than using Photoshop. The only thing I don’t like about Picasa is that when I edit my photo, the changes are saved on the original photo, so I lose my original one. And still don’t know if there is a solution for this or not.

Google map
Google map is not new to me since am obsessed with new restaurants, malls and shops, so I use Google map to help me reaching any destination I wish. Google map is my savior.

Google calendar
Before, I acknowledge about “Google calendar” but I didn't use it even once because I thought it’s complicated. But after my classmate gives us the teaching lesson I felt that this is something I always need and very important for me as students and have many deadlines and submissions. My suggestions to all students and employees to use Google calendar to schedule their meetings and spherical events.

Google Drive and drop box
With these tools I can work online of my staff that can already be saved in the hard drive of the computer, which means my documents will be with me anywhere at any time and this is very important for me as a student. I don’t have to email myself with anything anymore loool or take a USB with me all the time.

Diigo
I was so sad that I knew about it in my last year in college because it’s so beneficial tool for student specially in researching  where you can make an high-light, take a screen shoot, include an note box and many things more. I highly recommend students to use Diigo.

Google plus
Is a social network that has many features where you can Follow what friends, family, and interesting people around the world are sharing,  Join communities to explore interests and find people with similar passions, Automatically back up photos and videos at full resolution and Bring photos to life with animations, panoramas, and other Auto Awesome images.

Prezi
I have been using Prezi since I joined the college because to me it’s such a wonderful and fun way to present and also grab everyone’s attention to you without getting bored. And because I love using Prezi I choose it to teach my classmates about it because many of them didn't even hear about it before.

What makes Japanese pastry so in vogue?

The Japanese taste is very delicate; their style is lighter in weight and taste.
Yamanote is the first-of-its-kind bakery shop in Dubai that produces and serves a variety of European bread, pastries, cakes, croissant, sandwiches and sweet bakery items with a Japanese touch, all made from scratch on-site.
To preserve the purity and authenticity of the Japanese culinary culture, every item at Yamanote is created from high quality and seasonal ingredients; six different types of flour are exclusively imported from Japan.
As is tradition in Japan, customers can will fill up their trays with the various items on display before handing them over to a friendly assistant who will happily plate it or wrap it in customized, branded boxes to take home. The selection of bakery items changes on a regular basis and our team of bakers, under the watchful eye of Master Baker Kuni Maeda, experiment with new flavors and combinations on a daily basis.

This consistency in ensuring the authenticity and genuineness of the concept is the most important attribute that makes YamanoteAtelier different from other patisseries or bakery shops.

Emirati Ragag Bread recipe

Ragag Bread is a very thin traditional bread (paper thin). The word ragag comes from raga meaning thin and delicate. This is one of the most traditional breads known in the UAE and has many uses. Once the art of making this bread is mastered, it becomes very simple to do and up to 50 pieces can be made in an hour. You have to practice to a avoid burning your hand each time you fashion the dough around the hot griddle! It is also a popular winter-time bread, eaten fresh and warm from the griddle with oil drizzled over, then folded into pieces and eaten with fresh honey.
